Willow Harvest

Here is the 2007 harvest cut in January 2008, I love all the glowing colours.  The collection has about 60 varieties of cultured basketry willow with a few oddballs thrown in.

I'm here from "Nomad's" blog - you sound like a fascinating woman - and a great mother!

How cold does it get where you live and are growing your willow? I'm in northern Minnesota about 60 miles from the Canadian border. Several years ago I planted nine varieties that I purchased from a grower in southern Iowa. My sally garden just isn't happening, and I'm speculating that it's too cold here at -50 Fahrenheit some winters. Maybe I need a more hardy variety?
